Singer Hwang Chi Yeol Sweeps Chinese Prime Time Shows

On January 22, he will apprear in Hunan TV’s popular talk show ‘Day Day Up’ at 8:20pm (local time) and in the Chinese version of ‘I Am A Singer4’ at 10pm (local time).

He will be the only guest to ‘Day Day Up’ for two hours. He will sing live on stage and introduce Korea’s representative food Kimchi.

Many global celebrities visited ‘Day Day Up’ including Bill Gates, David Backham and Kimura Takuya. Korean celebrities such as Rain, CNBLUE, Park Hae Jin, 4Minute, Park Shin Hye, Song Ji Hyo and Gary also appeared in the show. The show has the highest viewing rate in China.

During the filming, Hwang demonstrated making Kimchi with the local Chinese cabbages in the studio. He learned to make it from his long experience of living on his own. Also, an anonymous Hallyu celebrity made a call to support him.

The singer, also well known for his wits which he displayed in other entertainment shows, won ardent response from the audience by parodying a scene from Chinese movie and mimicking other singers of ‘I Am A Singer4’.

His singing competition will come right after the talk show. Hwang will perform a heart-aching ballad for his second stage.

This time, one of the contestants will drop out of the show. The one with the lowest total score of last week’s and this week’s match will have to leave. Hwang will perform a heart-aching ballad for his second stage.

On the premiere of the program, he was spotlighted as he was the only foreign singer to compete in the show and the first runner-up among the best Chinese singers.
