‘Youth Over Flowers – Iceland’ Meets with Chinese Audiences

[by Yoonjung Yi] Chinese audiences will now be able to watch tvN’s travel program ‘Youth Over Flowers – Iceland’ through China’s largest online platform Tencent.

tvN announced that the show will air on Tencent Video starting from January 1. Tencent Video is easily the largest video community in China with about 320 million users.

Prior to the airing, ‘Youth Over Flower’ already gained huge support of the mass public with the anticipated crew including Jung Sang-hoon, Cho Jung-seok, Jung Woo and Kang Ha-neul.

CJ E&M said, “Tencent is the largest video sharing platform with the largest number of younger users, which allows Korean variety programs to spread to the Chinese continent quickly. Therefore, we decided to share ‘Youth Over Flowers – Island’ to Tencent.”

It added, “tvN’s program ‘New Journey to the West’ hit more than 60 million views within a week of its release on Tencent. We believe that ‘Youth Over Flower’ will have a greater impact than that.”
