Yoo In Na Transforms into a Fastidious Teacher

[by Kim Young Shin] Actress Yoo In Na plays the role of a single, ill-tempered teacher.

In MBC’s new drama ‘One More Happy Ending’, Yoo appears as Go Dong Mi, an elementary school teacher who is also a former member of girl group ‘Angels’. She was strategically put into the group to support her beautiful colleagues with her singing ability.

Go Dong Mi is a very lonely and grumpy single who has terrible sense of style: she always wears an ugly pair of round glasses and her frizzy hair never calms down. Even her name sounds like ‘loneliness’ in Korean.

Yoo usually played smart, assertive or adorable roles in her previous dramas such as tvN ‘Queen In Hyun’s Man’, KBS2 ‘You’re the Best, Lee Soon Shin’, SBS ‘My Love from the Star’ and tvN ‘My Secret Hotel’. Her changeover into Go Dong Mi is all the more interesting because it is a new challenge for the actress.

Yoo’s stylist Jeon Dong Hee said, “To make her look like Go Dong Mi, she put on a vintage layered look. She wore toned down colors instead of vivid ones. Also, to express a woman who is clumsy in grooming and romantic relationship, she made freckles and flush on her face. The messy and crisp hair is not a wig, it’s styled with her real hair.”

During the drama’s production conference at Sangam MBC building on January 18, Yoo commented “I gained 3 kilograms, gave up my high heels and fake eyelashes to become Go Dong Mi. The director was satisfied with my little endeavors. I am also enjoying the filming.”

On the day, the imaginary girl group ‘Angels’ released the music video of its song ‘Always for You’. It was produced according to the trend of 2003: milky white lightings, excessive gesture and smiles and personal colors for each of its five members. Yoo took the color green and revealed remarkable singing and dancing ability.

Meanwhile, drama ‘One More Happy Ending’ is about the members of a first generation girl group that retired and reached their thirties and men beginning to love again with its members. It will premiere on January 20 at 10pm KST. (photo by MBC)
