YG explains that the red rubbing off of G-Dragon’s USB is ‘INTENTIONAL’

In response to fan complaints about the red coloring coming off of G-Dragon’s “Kwon Ji Yong” album USB, YG has stated that it was intentional for the album concept: G-Dragon’s DNA and birth.

Also, prior to the selling of the album, YG Entertainment announced that the USB may get scratched or that the color would rub off.

Rather than mass printing of the red on the USBs, YG decided to make the USBs hand-colored in red ink to get the red smear and vintage scratched look that G-Dragon wanted for the ‘birth’ concept, with a print “Kwon Ji Yong, Blood type A, 1988, August 18”, handwritten by G-Dragon’s mother when he was born.

The USB has made other headlines as well, due to a debate over whether the USB can be counted as a complete album when it doesn’t come with music on the device. YG responded that the USB album is not just a ‘route’ for listening to music, it is a meaningful container for collecting various contents in it.

As a new issue arose, the controversy seems unlikely to die down.
