On March 4, Takahashi Juri stated on her Twitter, “I will be debuting through Korean agency, Woollim Entertainment. I’ve been preparing since February.”
She also said, “I announced my graduation from AKB48. I was happy to deliver the news to the fans at my 21st birthday party. I am still proud of AKB48.”
Takahashi Juri was a member of Japanese idol group AKB48 when she participated in ‘Produce 48’ in April of last year. She took 16th place at the final ranking announcement, so she did not get to debut as IZ*ONE.
She recently signed with Woollim Entertainment, signaling her near debut in Korea. She will be the first Japanese idol singer to debut in Korea. As she was one of the most popular members of AKB48, the news of her debut in Korea is an issue in Japan as well.
