BIGBANG’s leader G-DRAGON once again celebrated his birthday by donating to UN Refugee Agency.
On August 18, which is his birthday, G-DRAGON donated 81.8 million won (approximately 72,000 U.S. dollars) to Korean mission to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) to help refugees worldwide who are suffering from civil war and violence.
This donation will be used in UNHCR’s ‘Global Shelter Campaign,’ which aims to provide temporary shelter and a safe residential environment to two million refugees around the world.
G-DRAGON explained, “I wish we could all live in a peaceful world. It hurts me to see children who have fled from the war and violence. I would like to help in creating a place where they can rest for a bit.” He added, “I want to convey that peace cannot be achieved by thoughts alone, but by our collective efforts to achieve it.”
G-DRAGON has been making special donations every year on his birthday. He made donations for children with physical disabilities and the socially underprivileged. He is known for using his social networks to encourage his fans to participate in the donations.
