EXO’s ‘Monster’ Is Listed on FUSE TV ‘2016 THE 20 BEST SONGS of 2016’

[by Woorim Ahn] EXO’s ‘Monster’ became the best song of 2016.

On December 5, American music centered cable Fuse TV disclosed ‘2016 THE 20 BEST SONGS of 2016’ through its official website and one of them was ‘Monster’ by EXO. This is the only Asian song on the list and this proved the group’s global popularity.

FUSE TV said, “The K-pop phenoms proved why they’re still at the top of the game with this pristine pop smash. While the dark, hip-hop sound pulls the listener in initially, it’s that undeniable chorus that layers the ninesome’s boy-band harmonies, staccato-notes and ad-libs for another level of pop perfection.”

Moreover, ‘Monster’, the title song of EXO’s third full album, swept Korean music charts as well as many other charts around the world. The group also conquered to winning the grand award from the year-end awards such as ‘2016 Asia Artist Awards’, ‘2016 MelOn Music Awards’, ‘2016 MAMA’ and others.

Meanwhile, including EXO’s ‘Monster’, Beyonce’s ‘Formation’, Rihanna’s ‘Needed Me’, Bruno Mars ‘24K Magic’, Lady Gaga’s ‘Million Reasons’ and others were chosen on ‘2016 THE 20 BEST SONGS of 2016’ list. (photo by SM Entertainment)
